Another big historic Danville attraction is the Royal Theater, the first building in Danville constructed expressly for movies. Now known as Ellis Park, this space features baseball diamonds, a state of the art playground called The Playscape, and several shelters for overnight camping. It’s also the site of the Gill Family Aquatic Center, a Danville attraction to help cool residents and visitors down during the dog days of summer. The Aquatic Center features a lazy river, exciting whirlpools, and two massive water slides for a maximum adrenaline rush, making it a fun thing to do in Danville.
